Ijebu Youth laud Gov Abiodun over confirmation of TASUED VC

The national leadership of Ijebu Youth Association (IYA) has sent its deepest appreciation to Gov Dapo Abiodun for deeming it fit to confirm, Prof Wole Banjo as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)

Prof Wole Banjo was appointed the Vice Chancellor of the university in acting capacity around November 2020 when the former VC of the institution, Prof Abayomi Arigbabu was appointed the Commissioner for Education in the state.

The national President of the youth group, Comr Okikiola Fayomi had this year January written Gov Dapo Abiodun urging him to waste no further time to confirm Prof Wole Banjo as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the university.

The youth had described the Professor of Wild Life and Ecotourism as a thoroughbred academician and an administrator par excellence who had sufficiently proved that he has what it takes to build on the renowned legacies of academic excellence, industry and innovation synonymous with the first university of education in the country.

Reacting to the news of confirmation of Prof Banjo as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the university, Comr Okikiola Fayomi said that "we are really grateful to the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for proving again and again that he has listening ears and will always ensure that the right thing is done.

"We are very happy that early this year, because of the good work of Prof Oluwole Banjo as then the acting Vice Chancellor of the university, we wrote the governor appealing that having done fantastically well in acting capacity, this erudite scholar will do so much more if confirmed as the substantive head of the university.

"We are grateful to God and Gov Abiodun for this elevation and I must confess that the governor has equally given the youth across Ogun east senatorial district the more reason to double our support for him and his good government.

"We rejoice with our father, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Oluwole Banjo on this much deserved elevation. We urge him to maintain his friendly and fatherly disposition to the students and the youth, and it is our prayer that the almighty God will make his tenure much more memorable and exciting".
