CAGS old students condole Ogun govt, family over Onanuga’s death

The entire Christ Apostolic Grammar School Old Students Association (CAGSOSA) has expressed its deep sadness over the news of the passing of Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi-Onanuga, who until her demise on Wednesday represented the Sagamu/Ikenne/Remo North federal constituency and served as the Deputy Chief Whip at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.

In a condolence message issued by Prince Gaffar Adesoga Owokalade on behalf of the executives of the CAGSOSA on Thursday, the old students described the tragic exit of the federal lawmaker as a monumental loss to Remoland, Ogun State and the country at large.

CAGSOSA hails the 59-year-old  Deputy Chief Whip of the lower house describing her as an amazon who used her brand of politics to push for a better deal and put a seal of excellence on representative democracy in Remo land and Ogun State as whole.

The association while condoling with the state and family of the deceased has however said that it takes solace in the fact that the All Progressives Congress lawmaker left behind a rich legacy of selfless service, patriotism and undiluted love for the people of the state

The statement partly reads "On behalf of the National President, Mr. Armstrong 'Tope Akintunde, the National Executives and all members of CAGSOSA extend our heartfelt condolences to the family members, associates and the people of Ogun state over the death of Hon Mrs Adewunmi Onanuga Ijaya, the House of Representatives member representing Remo Federal constituency.

"This is an irreplaceable loss not only to her family but to all who knew and were impacted by her remarkable service and dedication to the development of her constituency and beyond.

"We pray for the peaceful repose of her soul and that God grants her family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this great loss".
