Gov. Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has gifted the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) a brand new bus and also promised to support the institute with a beffiting office building.
Abiodun made the donation during his investiture as Patron of NIPR, at the ongoing ‘Public Relations Week’, organized by the NIPR in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He emphasised the significant impact of Public Relations in molding public opinion on governance and policy.
The governor, who served as the chief host of the event, assured that the office and bus pledges will be redeemed immediately.
“Public Relations is instrumental in shaping the narrative around governance and government initiatives. It is only fitting that we equip the NIPR with the necessary tools to continue their important work,” he stated.
The governor noted that good public relations remained a critical asset for any responsible government in its quest for building sustainable growth.
Abiodun explained that through the implementation of robust public relations initiatives, the country’s vision and policies could be better appreciated by the governed.
“It will also engender international and bilateral co-operation and understanding,” he said.
Abiodun urged public relations practitioners to be patriotic and start projecting Nigeria’s image to the world in order to attract further investment and build the real sector of the economy
