The National President of Ijebu Youths Association (IYA) Pastor Okikiola Fayomi has lauded the governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun for helping with the construction of Ilese Ijebu road that has been abandoned for years.
Past Fayomi said the road was not only neglected but had become a nightmare causing the the motorists and commuters using the road untold pain and hardship.
In a statement sent to journalists on Friday morning, Fayomi said he had to visit the site on Thursday and was surprised at the pace and quality of the road project saying that it was a big relief that Gov Abiodun heeded the call of the residents of the area to help fix the road that is crucial to the economic prosperity of the area.
Fayomi, who interacted with the residents and engineers handling the project during the visit said that, he and other executives of Ijebu Youths Association came around to see the good work being done by Gov Abiodun on the road
The statement partly reads "In a significant moment of community engagement, Pastor Okikiola Fayomi, President of the Ijebu Youths Association, led a visit to the ongoing construction site of the Ilese Road.
"The purpose of the visit was to express gratitude to the Ogun State Governor for revitalizing this crucial infrastructure project after years of neglect.
"The Ilese Road, long abandoned and a symbol of past neglect, is now witnessing a transformation, thanks to the proactive measures taken by the Ogun State Government under the visionary leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun.
"Pastor Okikiola Fayomi, accompanied by a delegation from the Ijebu Youths Association, took the opportunity to witness firsthand the progress made on this vital route.
"During the visit, Pastor Fayomi expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun for prioritizing the reconstruction of the Ilese Road.
"He acknowledged the impact this initiative would have on the community, unlocking economic opportunities, improving accessibility, and enhancing the overall well-being of residents.
