Sosanwo described Akinremi as a very fine, intelligent and very courageous security expert who gave everything to protecting Nigerians either while serving as a police officer or when the task of pioneering the Amotekun Corps was dropped on his shoulder.
He said "we have no doubt lost a great Nigerian, a very reliable and security expert par excellence. It is a huge blow to our resolve to strengthen the security architecture of our dear state. He has no doubt written his name in gold with how he had pioneered the leadership of Amotekun Corps. He is a team player always ready to lend a helping hand. He came, he saw and he conquered. May the almighty God give us all the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss and may his loving soul rest in peace".
