Anwojue congratulates Gov Abiodun over victory @ polls


A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ewuren in Ijebu East Local Government, Omooba Omokayode Anwojue has congratulated Gov Dapo Abiodun for winning last Saturday governorship poll and thus emerging for the second term as the governor of Ogun State.

Abiodun in a keenly contested race had polled 276,298 votes to defeat his closest rival and PDP candidate, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, who scored 262,383 votes.

In a statement made available to journalists yesterday, Anwojue who also delivered his polling unit located at Imusin Market, Ward one in Ijebu East Local Government during the governorship election, revealed that the re-election of Gov Dapo Abiodun was nothing other than a reward for his outstanding performance in almost four years in office.

The foremost politician and philanthropist explained that "I am not really surprised that our darling, hardworking governor has been declared as the winner of the Saturday gubernatorial elections, I knew he would secure the victory given his conscientious commitment to serve the people of the state in the last four years. 

"His emergence again as the governor of Ogun State for another four years is a reward for his excellent performance in the first term. I have an assurance that the governor's second term would be deployed to serve the people and move the state to greater heights. I sincerely congratulate His Excellency, Gov Abiodun on this much deserved victory and pray for a prosperous Ogun State under his care"

Similarly, Coordinator of Coalition of Ijebu Youths and Students, Comr Olufemi Oyenuga popularly called Valentino has equally sent his congratulatory message to Gov Abiodun describing his second term victory as quite refreshing and one that validated the governor's excellent performance during his first term.

Oyenuga, while using the medium to appreciate the youths who joined forces with others to ensure that the governor record the second term victory has however urged the governor to deploy more resources towards youth development and empowerment in his second term.
