Ogun police arrest seven members of dare-devil ritualists, human parts dealers


Ogun State police command, on Wednesday, announced arrest of seven members of daredevil 
syndicate of ritualists across different areas in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The alleged ritualists were said to be in the habit of shooting down their victims, after which  they will butcher the person and then sell his or her different body parts to their network of devilish clients

According to statement from the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspects are  Lekan Oladipupo aged 38 of Sotan village, Sulaiman Aremu aged 30 of Imala Elega Abeokuta, 24-yr-old Ifayemi Madru also of Sotan village.

Others are Shittu Saheed, aged 38 of Alarugbo village, Samod Sulaiman aged 35 of Sotan village, 23-yr- old Akanji Moruf of Alabata village and Tajudeen Adekunle aged 36yrs of Sapon Abeokuta.

They were all said to have been arrested after one Abraham Okosun reported at Bode Olude Divisional headquarters of the police, Abeokuta that he visited his brother, one Sunday Okosun at Agbara village via Mawuko Abeokuta, only to discover that his brother had been brutally murdered by unknown person(s) with his remains dismembered. 


Acting on this bizzare report, the DPO, Bode Olude Division, DSP Durojaye Rotimi was said to have visited the scene with his crack detectives and there and then embarked on intelligence based investigation to unravel those behind the dastardly act. 

The statement disclosed that while acting on a credible information, the detectives traced and apprehended Lekan Oladipupo of Sotan Village, Abeokuta who on interrogation confessed being the actual person who shot and killed the deceased with his danegun.

His confession was said to have led to the arrest of the other six suspects. 

During interrogation, each of the suspects were said to have equally narrated their respective roles in the gruesome murder of the deceased and others who have been killed in similar circumstances in the past.


Lekan Oladipupo was said to have allegedly informed the police that his own role was to look for their victim, usually in the bush around Mawuko Village, Abeokuta and shot such unfortunate person to death. 

He disclosed further that he would then contact another member of the gang, Sulaiman Aremu, who will butcher the corpse of the victim and remove vital parts to be sold to their standby customers. 

The customers were allegedly said to include Ifayemi Badru who bought the heart, hands and other parts of the body, Tajudeen Adekunle and Shittu Saheed who bought the head as well as Akanji Moruf who bought the heart of another of their victims.

The suspects were also said to have allegedly confessed killing not less than four persons in such similar circumstances and that their bodies parts were used for money making ritual. 

They were also said to have informed the police that they have code names for each human part whenever they want to request for it from their suppliers.

For example, they normally refered to human head as ball, the heart as transformer, while the hands is code named as fans.

The gun and cutlass which they used for the dastardly act were also said to have been recovered by the police

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole, who described the incident as height of man inhumanity to man, has ordered that the suspects be transferred to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department, for discreet investigation with the view to charge them to court as soon as possible.
