Driver diverts N4.7m company's good, arrested with two others in Ogun



Ogun State police command on Sunday said that it has arrested one Oluwaseyi Oyetunde, a driver with Hayat Kimya Company as well as Segun Oluwaseun and Chijoke Ogbu over alleged divertion of N4.7m company's goods 

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi in a statement on Sunday said that the suspects, Oluwaseyi  Oyetunde, Segun Oluwaseun and Chijoke Ogbu were. arrested following a report made at Agbara divisional headquarters on the 29th of August 2021, by one Oluwatosin Ayodeji

Oluwatosin was said to have reported that Oluwaseyi Oyetunde, a driver to the company with goods worth of 4.7 million naira to be delivered to a customer in Lagos had not been seen since August 24 saying that it appeared the driver had absconded with the goods and the truck. 

Upon the report, the Dpo Agbara division, SP Saleh Dahiru detailed his crack detectives to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the driver and the goods. 

The team of detectives were said to have embarked on intelligence based investigation and traced the driver, Oluwaseyi and the truck to Lagos state where he was promptly arrested with the empty truck. 

On interrogation, the driver was said to have allegedly confessed that he diverted the goods to the receivers, who bought the goods from him at a give away price. 

The police disclosed further that the driver's confession was also said to have led the policemen to the shops of the two receivers of the diverted goods, Segun Oluwaseun and Chijeoke Ogbu, where parts of the stolen goods were recovered and the two receivers arrested. 

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has ordered a  full investigation into the case with a view to recover the remaining stolen goods, and charge the suspects to court for prosecution.
