A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr Armstrong Akintunde Tope has sent his felicitations to the newly elected local government chairmen in the state saying that with the aggressive campaign of the ruling party across the 20 local governments coupled with the purposeful governance of Prince Dapo Abiodun in the last two years, the APC sweeping victory across the 20 local governments in the state should be expected.
In a statement made available to journalists at Abeokuta on Sunday, Akintunde said that he knew that his party would clear all the 20 chairmanship seats because the party did not only embarked on issues-based campaign all over the state but had also through the sincere commitment of Gov Dapo Abiodun in the last two years made residents of the state troop out in their large numbers to for APC
The estate merchant equally lauded the electoral body, Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) for making the exercise to go very peacefully saying that the security agencies as well as the residents of the state also deserved commendation for their patriotic roles towards the success of the local government elections.
He has therefore called on all the elected chairmen and the 236 councillors to make selfless service their watchword and remain committed to making life more bearable for the rural dwellers.
Akintunde said " luckily you have the governor, who has never left anyone in doubt of his desire to leave Ogun State far better than it was in 2019, I urge our newly elected chairmen to hit the ground running and prioritise making life a lot easier for the people at the grassroots".
