Nemesis! Three robbers in fatal accident in Ogun while escaping with stolen vehicle, one die



Ogun State police command said it has arrested three armed robbery suspects after they were involved in a ghastly motor accident at Ode Remo, in Remo North local government area of the state while escaping with a Toyota Camry car which they snatched at gunpoint somewhere in Ondo state. 

The armed robbery suspects who were said to have suffered varying degrees of injuries from the accident are Sunday Emmanuel, Idris Ibrahim and Emeka John who later died while receiving treatment.

Açcording to statement from the Spokesman of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi on Wednesday, the the alleged armed robbers were said to have been arrested on Sunday, June 21.

They robbers were said to be coming from Ondo state, heading towards Lagos, but on getting to a point at Ode Remo due to reckless driving, their vehicle hit a culvert and somersaulted. 

The three occupants were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries and were rushed to the hospital by the policemen from Ode Remo divisional headquarters. 

While in the hospital, the DPO, Ode Remo Division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi received an information that, the vehicle in question was snatched at gunpoint by the accident victims. 

Acting upon this information, the DPO was said to have quickly ordered that the robbers should be placed under arrest right in the hospital. 

The owner of the stolen vehicle was said to have also reportedly came all the way from Ondo state, explaining that, he was accosted on the road by a gang of five men dressed like policemen, and that he was dragged out of the car at gunpoint and the vehicle taken away. 

The police stated that one of the suspects, Emeka John later died while receiving treatment while Sunday Emmanuel and Idris Ibrahim were ordered to be transferred to state criminal investigation and intelligence department by the Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun, for onward transfer to Ondo state command where they will be prosecuted.
