The National President of Southern Youth Association of Nigeria, Past Okikiola Fayomi decorating former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the Grand Patron of the association.
The leadership of Southern Youth Association of Nigeria has lauded the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for his avowed commitment to empowering the Nigerian youth and helping them to achieve greatness in life.
The national president of the youth group, Past Okikiola Fayomi, in a statement on Wednesday gave this commendation while while decorating Alhaji Abubakar as the Grand Patron of the association at an event held at the Abuja residence of the 2023 PDP presidential candidate.
Fayomi said that the honour bestowed on Alhaji Abubakar is a testament to his exceptional leadership acumen and his unwavering commitment to the youth constituency.
He noted that "the Southern Youth Association of Nigeria has noted the tireless efforts of His Excellency, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in promoting the welfare and development of Nigerian youths.
"Your dedication to empowering the next generation of leaders has earned you widespread admiration and respect across the country and it is on this account that we have decided to make you the Grand Patron of our youth organization which is committed to rallying for the greatness of Nigerian youths''.
He expressed confidence in Alhaji Abubakar's leadership abilities and charged him to continue doing his best for the youth constituency.
Fayomi emphasized that the association's decision to confer the Grand Patron title on Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a testament to his outstanding leadership qualities and his dedication to the youth's welfare and urged him to continue to do his utmost best for the nation at large
Receiving the prestigious honour,
the erstwhile Vice President was said to have "expressed gratitude to the Southern Youth Association for the honor and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting and empowering Nigerian youths".
Atiku said that"I acknowledge the crucial role young people play in shaping the nation's development and its future and I can assure you that we shall continue to work tirelessly for their benefit in our quest to make Nigeria great".
The former VP reportedly reiterated his resolve to continue to do all that is within his ability to continue to support the Nigerian youth to achieve their purpose in life.
