Otunba Wemmy Olumide Osude
The Chairman of Ilisan Development Association, Otunba Wemmy Osude has lauded the support of the residents of the town and other stakeholders for the progress and modest achievements recorded in the outgone year.
This is just as the former ExxonMobil USA Accountant has also unfolded developmental plans that will help aid the rapid development of the town in 2025.
Otunba Osude disclosed this in the new year message released on Thursday and made available to journalists.
The Chairman, while appreciating the support and cooperation received from the people last year also listed the giant strides recorded by the Ilisan sons and daughters across the globe.
Osude said "We are
immensely grateful for the steadfast support of our people for the programs and initiatives of the IDA, which have significantly contributed to the
growth and development of our town.
"Together, we have made remarkable strides, and with your continued partnership, we will achieve even greater
milestones.
"This year, we celebrate and congratulate Ilisan indigenes who have achieved exceptional feats in their professional careers, bringing honor to our
community:
"Air Vice Marshals Lanre Oyename and Gbolahan Oremosu for their promotions in the Nigerian Air Force.
Professor Ademola Oremosu, appointed as the Provost of the UNILAG Department of Medicine.
"Professor John Sotusa, now the Provost of the Benjamin Carson College of Health and Medical Sciences, Babcock University.
"Hon. Justice Mrs. Olatunde Opeyemi Sobowale (nee Osibodu), elevated to the position of High Court Judge in Ogun State.
"Hon. Jamiu Asimi, elected as the Executive Chairman of Ikenne Local Government.
Your achievements inspire us all and set a high standard for excellence.
"We also recognize and deeply appreciate the contributions of notable individuals and groups who have significantly impacted Ilisan:
"The Ilisan Club for their empowerment and credit schemes benefiting small business owners.
Ilisan Social Club and Adron Homes and Properties for gifting Ilisan a world-class city gate.
"Pastor Abbey Olusanya, whose Camelot Center represents a visionary investment in our future.Pastor Wale Onobiyi, for building a world-class medical center in Ilisan.
"These accomplishments showcase the resilience and ingenuity of our people, and we encourage our youth to emulate these examples of dedication
and commitment.
"Ilisan sons and daughters in the Diaspora, through Ilisan Development Union (IDU), UK and Ilisan Community Association (ICA), USA, Canada and indeed other parts of the world, remain totally committed to the development of Ilisan.You are much appreciated".
Meanwhile, the seasoned administrator has also disclosed of his plans to take the association to greater heights this year while rallying all the support to expand the frontiers of socio-economic development of the town.
Osude said uppermost in his 2025 agenda is the restructuring of IDA to make it more responsive to the needs of a modern Ilisan and to attract qualitative leadership in the near future.
He explained further that other focus of his administration will include "Strengthening partnerships with government, corporate organizations and NGOs to attract more developmental opportunities.
"Improving communication through the completion of the IDA website for better information dissemination.
"Enhancing security through increased community patrols.
Empowering our youth with expanded mentorship, counselling, and safe school’s initiatives.
"Fostering inclusivity by integrating non-indigenes into Ilisan’s social fabric, ensuring everyone contributes to our progress.
"Maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, especially as Ilisan continues to gain global recognition, as seen with the Pan-African Youth Summit held at Babcock University. Young people from 68 countries attend the summit. Ilisan also received visitors from Asia and North America".
Osude added that Ilisan town has continued to stand as a beacon of excellence, garnering respect and honourable mention within and beyond Nigeria and that there is need for support of all to sustain this momentum.
While wishing all a very prosperous and memorable year 2025, the Chairman urged the people to join hands with him to build an Ilisan township that everyone and even the future generations can be proud of
