Ogun NIPR endorses Seun Boye-led exco for second term


The Ogun State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has endorsed its Chairman, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, and other members of the state Executive Council for a second term in office.

The endorsement was part of the major highlights of the December 2024 Business Meeting held on Thursday at the Chapter Secretariat, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.


Boye and other Executive members, who were elected on 30th November, 2022, were unanimously endorsed for another two-year term as a result of their exceptional performance and significant achievements in office.

Other members of the Executive are Mr. Waheed Ogunjobi, Vice Chairman; Mr. Kunle Olayeni, Secretary; Mrs. Adijat Olaleye, Treasurer; Mr. Ifekayode Akinbode, Public Relations Executive; and Mr. Tunwase Dokunmu, Assistant Secretary.

After the Chairman presented the Chapter's Progress Report (2022 - 2024) at the meeting, a member, Mr. Dare Folarin, moved a motion for the Boye-led executive to continue unopposed for another term of two years.

The motion, which was seconded by another member, Mr. Tunde Olayiwola, was unanimously affirmed by other members present, signalling a popular confidence vote for the incumbent leadership of the Chapter. 

During her presentation, the Chairman had highlighted some of the achievements recorded by her administration to include the hosting of the maiden Nigeria Public Relations Week, facilitation of brand new bus and additional office space donated by the Ogun State Government, rebranded Image Maker Journal, compendium of Public Relations professionals in Ogun State.



Others are establishment of Green Park at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta 
(MAPOLY), and secured approval for commercial farm project at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

She also mentioned the facelift of the Secretariat Office, procurement of office equipment notably laptop and printer, production and installation of signage, increased membership drive, capacity building programmes, and partnerships with relevant organisations and stakeholders, among others. 

Boye listed some crucial future projections of the Executive to include permanent site development, community outreach programmes, establishment of library and resource centre, international trainings, improved revenue generation and unique mentorship programme which would pair experienced Public Relations professionals with student and upcoming practitioners.

She further assured that her administration would build on the successes already recorded and address emerging challenges. 

The Chairman expressed appreciation to the President and Chairman of Council, NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, the Registrar, Mr. Uzoma Onyegbadue, past Chairmen of the Chapter and entire members for their unflinching support and cooperation over the past two years.

Also at the meeting, a Council member, Mr. Tope Adaramola, who is also the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Council of Registered Insurance Brokers (NCRIB), delivered a pep talk on the topic, "Managing Your Life and Career Plateau."
