The determination of Sen Gbenga Daniel representing Ogun East to see to the establishment of Federal College of Aviation Technology, Ilara Remo scaled second reading on Wednesday at the Red chamber.
Daniel who governed Ogun State between May 2023 and May 2011 disclosed this in his post on verified Facebook page.
OGD as he is fondly called said "in fulfilment of my campaign promise, I presented, for second reading, the bill for the establishment of the Federal College of Aviation Technology, Ilara Remo with a mandate to deliver on courses on Aircraft Design and Construction, Navigation and Communication Systems, Flight Management Systems, Engine Technology, Safety Systems, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)…amongst others.
"The transformation of the current Techincal College in Ilara-Remo to a College of Aviation Technology will complement the current Agro-Cargo Airport in Ilisan and most importantly, offer the much-needed local skill acquisition for our nation’s aviation sector.
"The support and endorsement of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and Senators Adams Oshiomole, Aminu Tambuwal, Titus Zam, Osita Izunaso, Fadahunsi and other distinguished colleagues cannot be taken for granted".
