Operatives of Ogun State Police Command said they have arrested four members of a Lagos based robbery gang that had been terrorizing Ode-Remo in Remo North Local Government area of the state for some time.
Those arrested for the alleged armed robbery acts according to the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Ogun State command, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi are Habeeb Salaudeen 24, Ezekiel Jayesimi 30, Olamilekan Teniola 22 and Olaitan Sonibare 25.
A total of 17 exotic phones comprising of 4 iPhones and 13 Android were said to have been allegedly recovered from the robbery suspects.
They were said to have been arrested on Monday, March 13 around Mushin, Lagos State where they were hiding after carrying out their alleged robbery act at Ode Remo.
A distress call was said to have been received by policemen attached to Ode-Remo divisional headquarters at about 2:30 am that armed robbers numbering about seven had invaded a house at COTCO road, Ode-Remo dispossesing the residents of their belongings.
Upon this distress call, the DPO of Ode-Remo division, CSP Fasogbon Olayemi was said to have quickly led his men to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in gun battle with the robbers escaping in a white Rav 4 car which they came with.
Luck, however was said to have ran against the fleeing alleged robbers when they were accosted by policemen at Warewa, along Lagos-Ibadan expressway, who stopped them having seen the bullet hole on their vehicle.
The robbers were said to have abandoned the car and ran away but they were technically trailed to Mushin area of Lagos where four of them were apprehended.
They were all said to have confessed to the commission of the crime while and recovered from them were 4 iPhones and thirteen android phones.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Frank Mba, has directed that the suspects be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Departments for discreet investigation. The CP also ordered a massive manhunt for the remaining members of the gang, with a view to bring them to justice.
