Ijebu Youth mourns Dagburewe, describes death as colossal loss

The National Leadership of Ijebu Youth Association (IYA) has described as very shocking the reported passage of Dagburewe of Idowa in Odogbolu local government area of Ogun State, Oba Yinusa Adekoya.

The 87 year old monarch and second in command to Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, was said to have joined his ancestors yesterday.

In a statement made available to journalists in Abeokuta on Monday, the National President of Ijebu Youth Association (IYA) Comr Okikiola Fayomi described the passage of Oba Adekoya as colossal loss to the entire Ijebu land and Ogun State as a whole.

Comr. Okikiola Fayomi said that the demise of the royal father has no doubt depleted jebu land and entire Ogun State of another icon and illustrious Nigerian who worked conscientiously to advance the socio-economic development of the people.

Okikiola said "it is with rude shock that we received the news of the demise of one of our loving royal fathers, the Dagburewe of Idowa, Oba Yinusa Adekoya. There is no doubt the royal father lived a very impactful life serving his people in different capacity while in the Federal civil service and as traditional ruler of Idowa Ijebu for good 30 years".

"We acknowledge your support for youth development and commitment to the accelerated progress of Ijebu land and Nigeria as a whole. We commiserate with Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, the Idowa community and the entire Ogun State over this great loss. It's our prayers that the almighty God will give us all the fortitude to bear this huge loss".
