Utomi's NCF lacks power to make appointment for Labour Party-Arabambi

The National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party, Comr. Abayomi Arabambi has said that Prof Pat Utomi led National Consultative Front (NCF) lacks power to make any appointment for the party.

Comr. Arabambi said that according to article 14 sub section 1(a) of the party's constitution, all appointments are made through the office of the National Chairman while the announcement of such appointment is made by  the National Publicity Secretary of the party.

Arabambi disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday to debunk the reported appointment of one Charles Okadigbo as the Spokesman of the party by the NCF group.

He revealed that the Labour Party has not made such appointment except Prof Pat Utomi who is the leader of NCF had usurped the function of the National Chairman, Barr Julius Abure.

Arabambi said "for the records , Prof Pat Utomi who is the leader of the NCF, a strong affiliate of the LP while in a zoom meeting introduced Charles Okadigbo as the Media Head of the "Big Tent", an acronym for the NCF and no mention of LP was made on that platform.

"All appointments by the LP are made through the office of the National Chairman and announcement made by  the National Publicity Secretary under the directive of the National Chairman

"For emphasis and clarity :
Article 14 sub section 1(a) of the Labour Party Constitution states as follows;

" The National Chairman shall give leadership to the party and shall preside over all meetings of the National Executive Council and the National Working Committee of the Party.

"This constitutional provision quoted above vested the power  of all appointments and leadership only  to the person and the office of the National Chairman".

 He said the party now uses this opportunity to sound a note of warning to any person or group of persons and all support groups that the party is guided by the constitution in all its activities and as such, all members of the party as well as interested members of the public must abide by it.
