Ogun APC chieftain, Obadina defects to Labour Party

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikenne local government, Prince Elias Iyiola Obadina and his hundreds of supporters have defected to the Labour Party.

Prince Elias Iyiola Obadina in a statement made available to journalists at Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, on Wednesday evening disclosed that he and his supporters decided to move to Labour Party having concluded that the ruling party has done little or nothing to make life easier for the people of Nigeria.

He said "the performance of APC as ruling party in the last seven years has always bothered me, it has always left a sour taste in my mouth. I can't believe that our insecurity challenge will get to this alarming rate. The killings across the country has continued unabated.

"The last Sunday terrorist attack against the innocent worshippers of St Francis Catholic Church, Owo really got me sad and empty. It only goes to confirm that no one is safe again in the country, we really can't continue like this .

"For about two months now, our universities have been shut, our youths are at home doing nothing, for God's sake, these are the pillars of this country tomorrow. Nigeria deserves a better deal and this I have the assurance will be delivered by the Labour Party under Peter Obi led government from May 29, 2023".
