Otunba Segun Showunmi, Ogun State PDP governorship candidate has said that he remained committed to making adequate preparation to be the best governor ever elected in the in the state.
Otunba Segun Showunmi, who is laying claim to the governorship ticket of the opposition party in the state with Hon Oladipupo Adebutu, on Thursday, disclosed that he remained unperturbed by any act of shenanigans from any quarters in the party and would rather not be distracted with his resolve to give the people of Ogun State the best ever form of governance when he gets to office next year.
Showunmi made this statement while reacting to a purported press interview granted by Hon Ladipupo Adebutu where he had insisted that he remain the PDP governorship candidate for Ogun State.
The Egba born politician and former Spokesman to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has however described such statement as absolute hogwash and figment of imagination of its sponsors and who are only fooling themselves.
Showunmi said "this is a matter that two others have taken to court and cannot be for nothing. Adebutu and his friends are fooling themselves, we have traveled this road before and it’s best to say let the court adjudicate on the matter but for a side to try to claim what it does not have is funny, no one is richer than the truth and no one is above the law.
"We may not know who will be successful as the governor in 2023 but we know those who cannot win nor be allowed to govern our state".
He added that since winning the governorship primary of the state, he had been making contacts across the globe and seeking collaboration and partnership towards building a new Ogun State that everyone could be proud of.
While seeking the support of the people towards his desire to become the Ogun State governor come 2023, Showunmi said "I will be the very best Governor Ogun State has ever had if you all are bold enough to send me. Our concept paper is now been sent to the best across the globe for input and some people who are totally without capacity think it's about them. I am so excited about what we plan to do with this governorship ambition of mine".
