Armstrong rallies support for Abiodun's second term



A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr Armstrong 'Tope Akintunde has said that the need to ensure a seamless second term for Gov Dapo Abiodun come 2023 remain the task to be accomplished for every resident of the state given the tremendous development the state has witnessed since  the governor took over three years ago.

Akintunde who spoke with journalists immediately he had meeting with some leaders of the party in Iperu on Sunday also speaks on the activities of Dapo Abiodun Continuity Agenda (DACA) a support group the property merchant had founded to mobilise support for the success of the second term bid of Gov Abiodun.

He said 'it is so glaring that our hardworking governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has left no stone unturned to expand the frontiers of development of the state. The governor's imprints are so visible in every sector. He is doing so much in agric, housing, education, health, massive road construction. 

"I must also not forget the ongoing Agro-Cargo Airport project that will go a long way to enhance the economic prosperity of the state. In a nutshell, Gov Abiodun has within this period surpassed the expectations of the people and the best thing to do is to ensure that this good work continues beyond 2023".

Akintunde explained further that "it is against this backdrop that we have put up this group; DACA to mobilise support for our party, APC as well as the second term bid of Gov Abiodun. Our aim is to mobilise at least 5000 per 20 local governments of the state. 

"We are principally out to empower our party members and that is why we have built a shopping complex at Iperu to empower market traders. It is a way to empower the traders in our midst and another massive empowerments is on the way for our party members soon.

"It's on records that we have earlier distributed various empowerment tools such as motorcycles, grinding machines, sewing machines, hairdressing and barbing kits to over 1000 people and the second batch of the distribution of empowerment tools shall commence by the second half of the year.

Akintunde said that DACA will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the good government of Gov Abiodun continues beyond 2023 urging other residents of the state to keep supporting the governor as he remains committed to leaving the state far better than he met it.

The meeting had in attendance some notable leaders of the party in Ikenne Local Govt led by by the Chairman of the council, Hon. Olusegun Ogunleye, Elder Olayiwola Ali-Odunsi, Hon. Isiaka Oluwole Ojuroye State APC Legal Adviser II, Hon. Tajudeen Salako former Chairman of the local government, Hon. Kehinde Awoyemi former minority leader of the local government, Hon. Bisi Adesina, Mr. Kola Odusanya, Hon. Kehinde Asanbe among other party stakeholders.
