Abiodun's aide, PAB distances self from Lagos fuel sovenir saga

The Senior Special Assistant to Gov Dapo Abiodun on Environment, Hon Adesina Popoola fondly called PAB has distanced himself from the viral video making the rounds on social media where fuel in 10 litres gallons were purportedly being distributed as sovenir at a party held in Lagos.

Hon Adesina Popoola disclosed that he knew nothing about this fuel sovenir said to have been distributed at this party and that any attempt to link him with the unfortunate incident was pure attempt by his political detractors to drag his hard earned reputation in the mud.

In a statement personally signed by him and made available to journalists at Abeokuta, the state capital on Saturday, Adesina said "my attention has been drawn to a viral video on social media where fuel in 10 litres gallons were packaged as sovenirs for the guests at a party.

"The truth is that, actually I was at the party held at Oniru, Lagos Island just like any other invited guest but I know nothing about the fuel sovenir saga. And my name being mentioned by those on stage with the popular Fuji musician, Malaika was in recognition of my arrival at the party which I never deny but not that I have anything to do with the handling of the fuel sovenir.

"In this particular video, the person who was on stage and being described to be me was putting on white attire whereas I was on black to the occasion.

"I maintain that I have nothing to do with this incident other than I was at the party just like any other invited guest. I want to say that all efforts to link me with this unfortunate incident are just work of my political enemies who are hell-bent on tarnishing my hard-earned reputation on the altar of politics of bitterness. I therefore urge my supporters to remain calm and see my explanation here as the honest truth".

Adesina said he was even happy that Lagos State government has promised to investigate this incident with a view to punishing the organisers of the party.
