The Chairman, BOT, Ago Iwoye Great Thinkers Trust Foundation (AIGTT) Major General Sansadeen Adebanjo Awosanya (rtd) and other members of the group during the commissioning of its secretariat at Ago Iwoye on Wednesday.
The Chairman, Board of Trustees, Ago-Iwoye Great Thinkers Trust Foundation (AIGTT) Major General Sansadeen Adebanjo Awosanya (rtd) has said that the dream of the socio-economic group is to raise at least N1bn for various developmental projects befitting Ago Iwoye in Ijebu North local government area of Ogun State.
Major General Awosanya (rtd) made this disclosure on Wednesday during the official launching of the group held at WosAm Arena, Ago Iwoye.
He explained that the group took off in August 2016 as Ago Iwoye City Development Thinkers and that it was majorly populated by sons and daughters of Ago Iwoye at home and in diaspora mainly to stimulate the growth and development of the ancient town.
Awosanya said of particular interest to the group is to advance the progress of Ago-Iwoye in the area of qualitative healthcare, education, poverty reduction and youth empowerment via vocational training and agriculture, character moulding among others.
He said that the group has equally established four committees of health, education, agric as well as skill acquisition and youth empowerment explaining that the visions of the social-economic would be pursued under these committees.
Awosanya said that the communal group plans to have at least 100 acres of land for its agricbusiness with another ultramodern hospital that would be able to cater for the people of Ago-Iwoye at a very minimal cost.
He has therefore urged all the sons and daughters of the town to buy into this lovely vision and donate generously towards achieving all the lofty ideals of the group.
Speaking at the programme, the Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba Abdulrazak Adesina Adenugba lauded the indigenes of the town for coming up with such brilliant ideas saying that he was cocksure that the efforts would enhance greatly the exponential development of the ancient town.
Oba Abdulrazak Adenugba called for unity and cooperation among all the sons and daughters of Ago-Iwoye maintaining that the town would be able to achieve more if it works in oneness.
The royal father said "Ago Iwoye is for all of us, this is no doubt a brilliant and very laudable initiative, it will surely raise the pedestal of our town, I am proud of you all. However, we must continue to live together in oneness and unity of purpose, we must shun all rancour and keep on working for the greatness of our blessed town, Ago Iwoye".
Earlier, Chief Femi Bakre, the Managing Director of Parallex Bank and member of the BOT of AIGTT said that the whole essence of the group is to work for a greater Ago Iwoye pleading with other indigenes of the town at home and abroad to join forces with group to bring to fruition its lofty dreams.
Other dignitaries at programme included Otunba Engr. Femi Olukoya, Aare Safiriyu Kazeem Adebanjo, CEO of SAF Petroleum, Mogaji Adeyinka Sipe, Yemi Sonaike, a retired Director of State Security Service, Olori Modupe Sotobi, Comr Tosin Adeyemi, an entrepreneur who spoke on behalf of the youth of the town among others..
