Commercial driver stabs mistress's husband to death in Ogun.



The operatives of the Ogun State Police Command say they have arrested a 38- year-old commercial driver, Daniel Udoh for allegedly stabbing to death one Emeka Umonko, a husband to a woman who the suspect was allegedly having secret love affair with.

Crime report from the command indicated that the suspect was arrested on the 7th of January 2022 at Ota area of the state.

According to statement from the Police Public Relations Officer of the state command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Daniel Udoh was said to have been arrested at Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota local government area of the state on January 7, 2022.

The suspect was said to have been picked up after a distress call was received by the Divisional Police Officer, Onipanu divisional headquarters, CSP Bamidele Job.

The police said that the deceased who had been suspecting that Daniel was going out with his wife, confronted and accused him of having illicit affair with his wife, and this led to a serious fight between the two men.

The statement added that while the fight was going on, Daniel brought out a knife and  stab Emeka severally at his back and chest, following which the deceased collapsed.

The DPO Onipanu was said to have quickly detailed his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested, and the knife recovered as an exhibit.

The victim, a welder, was said to have been rushed to the State Hospital, Ota, but was unfortunately pronounced dead by the doctor on duty.

The remains of the victim was said to have been subsequently deposited at Ifo General Hospital mortuary for post mortem examination.

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has directed that the suspect be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, for further investigation, with the view to charging him to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
