RIDSCo unveils renovated Ajaka healthcentre, Sagamu.

The Chairman of Royal Initiative for Development of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo) Olootu Omoba Michael Oyedele has said that the initiative remain committed to working round the clock to improve on the living conditions of residents of Sagamu communities.

Olootu Omoba Michael Oyedele equally said that RIDSCo will remain at the vanguard of creating peaceful and friendly environment for businesses operating in Sagamu and its environs to thrive the more and smile to banks.

The industrialist and community leader reiterated this commitment while speaking during the unveiling of newly refurbished Sagamu Local Government Primary Health Centre, Ajaka. The renovation of the healthcentre was done by Nestle Nigeria Plc while Transit Gas Nigeria Limited equipped the healthcentre with modern medical equipment.

Oyedele lauded Nestle Nigeria Plc and Transit Gas Nigeria Limited for being wonderful developmental partners saying that their intervention would definitely go a long way to impact on the quality of healthcare services now available for the residents of Ajaka community, and Sagamu as a whole.




The community leader specifically commended Nestle for its various past efforts to support the development of Sagamu communities through donation of boreholes as well as renovation and stocking of Makun Library with books.

He said that the desire of the two business organisations to affect their host communities positively remained commendable urging other business operations in around Sagamu to also join hands with RIDSCo in its quest to make life more rewarding for the people of the local government.

Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for health, Dr Tomi Coker represented by the  Executive Secretary of Ogun State Primary Health Care Board, Dr Elijah Ogunsola lauded the two business organisations for supporting the vision of Gov Dapo Abiodun's leadership to enhance qualitative healthcare delivery at the grassroots.

Dr Coker said that the government had renovated and equipped 16 healthcentres  including Makun Healthcentre, Sagamu and had shortlisted at least 100 more for renovation come next year.

While thanking RIDSCo for its avowed commitment to facilitating rapid development across Sagamu communities through partnership with companies operating in the local government, the Commissioner said that government had also approved running cost for the health centres to ensure that they were properly managed and maintained for greater efficiency.

In his earlier address, Nestle Country Head of Human Resources, Mr Sakiru Lawal disclosed that helping communities to grow and impacting positively on the living condition of the people are part of the shared values of the 59 year old food company hence, the decision of the company to join forces with RIDSCo in renovating the healthcentre.

Mr Lawal said that aside the newly commissioned healthcentre project, the food company is also involved in scholarship scheme for students in secondary schools and tertiary institutions from Sagamu just as it is doing across the country adding that the company remained committed to pursuing efforts that will make life more enjoyable for all.

Barr. Aloiye Aigbonoga, Head of Community Relations and Security, Transit Gas Nigeria Limited, said that it was part of the policy of the company to support its host communities especially in the area of education and healthcare.

Barr Aigbonoga said the company was therefore definitely glad to have supported qualitative health-care delivery in Sagamu and its environs with the donation of 28 medical facilities including ultrasound scanning machine among others and would always be ready to advance well-being of Nigerians.

Dignitaries at the event included Nestle Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication, Victoria Uwadoka, Mrs Abosede Adesanya, Dr Gbeke Opelami, Builder Olu Sokoya, OLU Fola Akodu, Comr Olagoriola Ogungbe all of whom are executives of Royal Initiative for Development of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo).
