The joy of the people of Ogijo community in Sagamu local government knew no bound on Wednesday as the Royal Initiative for Development of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo) in collaboration with Larfarge Cement donated a well equipped primary health center to the residents of Afisuru area of the boundary town between Ogun and Lagos State.
The group saddled with spearheading of development of Sagamu communities also on the same day commissioned for use medical facilities and furniture donated to the Sagamu Primary Healthcentre, Sotubo as well as three other massive concrete culverts built at Ogijo to help control flooding problem.
Speaking during the commissioning, the Chairman of RIDSCo, Olootu Omoba Michael Oyedele said that the group remained committed to prioritising projects that would enhance quality of living and make life much more rewarding for the residents of communities in Sagamu notwithstanding location of such communities.
Olootu Omoba Michael Oyedele said that the projects were made possible with the support of Larfarge Cement who made available the fund.
The industrialist has therefore urged the staff of the healthcentres to make judicious use of all the medical facilities and remain dedicated to giving prompt and adequate care to the people making use of the healthcentres.
Olootu Omoba Oyedele was full of commendation for Larfarge Cement for being dependable ally in advancing development of communities in Sagamu urging others to take a cue from this excellent example of coporate social responsibility.
Speaking on behalf of Larfarge Cement company, Mr Ezekiel Obasanya said that the partnership with RIDSCo is such that is line with Larfarge policy's of making life more enjoyable for all promising that the cement company would continue to engage in partnership that bring smiles to the faces of Nigerians
Making his speech during the event, the Chairman of Community Development Council, Everlasting Area, Ogijo, Hon Ademola Adenuga said that it was with great excitement the residents are witnessing the speedy completion and commissioning of the healthcentre which was started in 2012.
Hon Ademola Adenuga said the community was happy that RIDSCo with the support of Larfarge Cement company had come to their rescue on time helping with the completion and furnishing of the healthcentre with requisite medical facilities saying that this would definitely improve on the quality of healthcare available for the residents of the community.
While thanking RIDSCo and Larfarge for the humanitarian gesture, Ademola equally requested for assistance of the group and that of the government in providing more medical staff, befitting ambulance, electricity, computers among others for the smooth operation of the healthcentre.
Speaking on behalf of Sagamu local government, Mrs Adelani Busirat Bolanle said that the government appreciated the kind gesture and would surely ensure that the healthcentres and the medical facilities are well taken care of so as not to defeat the purpose they were meant to serve.
