...as VC urges students to invest their time wisely
The Acting Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, Prof. Wole Banjo has charged the newly admitted 6,765 students of the institution to invest their time wisely by engaging in academic activities that will be beneficial to their career.
Prof. Banjo made the appeal during the matriculation exercise for new students for the 2020/2021 academic session, which took place recently at the Ijagun campus of the University.
The Vice Chancellor also urged them to engage in vocational training activities on campus which is another selling point of the Institution, with a warning that the University has zero tolerance for cultism and other anti social vices that may jeopardize their studentship in the institution.
He further reiterated his earlier warning to students that regular attendance at lectures is paramount, adding that a minimum of 70% attendance at lectures must be achieved before being allowed to participate in examinations.
Prof. Banjo also noted that the University frowns at indecent dressing on campus as the institution is a specialized University of Education where they train would-be teachers.
The oath of allegiance was later administered by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Tunde Oduwole.
In the same vein, the TASUED National Alumni, in line with their vision of celebrating academic excellence, presented Miss Sanyaolu Mercy Deborah of the Department of Mathematics with a scholarship for her academic prowess for being the best 100 Level student during the 2019/2020 academic session, having scored 5.0 CGPA.
Similarly, Miss Kaosirat Fadipe of the College of Humanities who became the University Ambassador was eulogised for her honesty by returning a huge amount of money she found during the recent Orientation programme of the University and subsequently presented with a letter of commendation by the Vice Chancellor.
