It was a day of joy, accompanied with so much dancing and drumming as the Olubadan of Ibadan land,
Oba Saliu Adetunji Aje Ogungunniso 1, on Monday crowned and blessed Mogaji Adetoyese Adekola who recently emerged as Mogaji Ile Bada Akiole ruling house of Ode Aje Ibadan.
The ceremony held at the Olubadan palace, Popo Yemoja, Ibadan, Oyo State had in attendance families and friends of the new Mogaji, Chief Adetoyese Adekola who came from far and near to share in the joy of the day with the new Chief.
Presenting Chief Adekola to the family, the Baale, Alhaji Sakariyawu Mustapha Ayokunle, the Bada-Efon of Ode-Aje, Ibadan while showering encomiums on the newly installed Mogaji described him as being highly resourceful and lover of anything that will move forward his family and Ibadan land as a whole.
Chief Sakariyawu Mustapha who could not contain his joy over the long over due installation of Mogaji Adetoyese Adekola disclosed that, despite the fact that this joyful gathering ought to have come earlier than this, the family was still grateful to God that a new Mogaji of the family who has all it takes to turn things around for good for the family has eventually been picked.
He said "We are sending the new Mogaji, Chief Adetoyese Adekola to the whole Ibadanland to bring more honour to the family of Bada-Akiole ruling house.
Mogaji is higher than chieftaincy title in the history of Yorubaland, the current Olubadan was Mogaji before his installation as Olubadan
"I therefore appeal to our family members to rally support for our new Mogaji who I know has all it takes to lift higher the lofty heritage of our family. I pray for long life and sound health for him and it is my prayer that his reign will usher in greater peace and prosperity for the family and Ibadan land as a whole'.
Making his short remark at occasion, the newly installed Mogaji, Chief Adetoyese Adekola applauded his family members far and near for the trust and confidence reposed in him which culminated into his being chosen as the Mogaji of Bada Akiole ruling house, Ibadan.
Chief Adekola said that he was not unmindful of the worth of honour done him by the family and would therefore ensure that he remained committed to pursuing ideals and values that would make his family and Ibadan land greater.
Dignitaries in attendance were Chief Sule Alao, Balogun, Iyalode, Chief Kayode Daisi, the Chief Press Secretary to the Olubadan, Mr. Adeola Oloko, Baale of Gbada Efon Kingdom and Balogun of Bada Efon Kingdom.
Others are Mogaji Anisere, Kabiyesi Abiodun Daisi, Alhaji Ismaila Oyetunde, Chairman Ona Ara local government, Iyalode of Bada Efon Kingdom, Alhaja Bilikisu Osundeyi Arinola, Mrs Funmillayo Alao, Alhaji Ganiyu Oyetunde, Dr Mudasiru Adebayo Arinola, Taofeek Alao, Mrs. Falilatu Gbadamosi, Mrs Sakirat Ola Dada, the Iyalaje of Sagamu among other well wishers.
