Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) Southwest zone has said that the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is indeed worthy of the decision of European and American University to honour him saying that the governor had since his assumption of office been working round the clock to make life worth living for the people of the state.
IPAC, Southwest zone, in a statement signed by its Chairman and Secretary, Comr Arabambi Abayomi and Prince Tolu Ajayi respectively said that the cheering news of the decision of European and American University to honour Gov Yahaya Bello only confirmed the quality of the leadership of the second term governor who has remained dedicated to pursuing programmes designed to uplifting the lives of the people of Kogi State.
The group said "Gov Yahaya Bello is the only the only governor that successfully gave quality and exemplary leadership to his people during the Covid - 19 official assault on the Treasury by most Governors .
"He refused to be part of official stealing from the State Treasury in the name of confronting the over - hyped Covid - 19 in very open deceit that went on last year.
"Besides all of the above , he has sustained the popular and commendable capacity of his government in delivering the dividends of democracy to the residents of his State in all the sectors of governance.
"As a result of this , he has been singled out of the 36 Governors in Nigeria to be recognised and chosen to be honoured by the European and American University".
The group disclosed further that Gov Yahaya Bello's combined qualities of high level of integrity, delivery of high quality education, strong leadership, commitment towards women empowerment, high sense of financial prudence among others have separated him from the crowd of gap-filling governors making empty noises all over the country.
Gov Yahaya Bello was said to have once again demonstrated that with this award the youths are in good stead to offer credible leadership to the country.
The statement said it is against this background that "IPAC South West Chapter believe that if by any omission or commission APC fails to recognise the shouting need to make the very brilliant and youthful Gov Yahaya Bello its consensus Presidential candidate in 2023, the South West IPAC assures APC that the opposition will be too happy to offer him the necessary platform".
